Cargo Guardian Pty Ltd respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, how we protect it, and what you can do about it. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Information you give us. When you submit an enquiry, request a consultation, book a readiness check or otherwise contact us through this site, we collect your name, email address, phone number, organisation, the area you need help with, and anything you write in the message field.
Information collected automatically. When you submit a form we also record your IP address, browser user agent, the page you submitted from, the page you first landed on, and the referring website. We run a first-party page-view counter that records the pages visited, the referring site, and any campaign parameters in the link you arrived through (for example utm_source, utm_campaign, gclid or fbclid), together with a randomly generated visitor and session identifier. That identifier is not linked to your name unless you submit a form.
We do not use Google Analytics, Tag Manager, advertising pixels or third-party behavioural tracking on this site.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing without your consent.
We share personal information only where it is necessary to run this site and respond to you:
We may also disclose information where we are required or authorised to do so by law. Some of these providers are located overseas, or may store backups overseas.
We keep enquiry records for as long as we have a business relationship with you and afterwards for as long as we need them for our legal, insurance and professional obligations. Page-view records are kept for analytics purposes only and are not used to build a profile of you. If you would like your information deleted sooner, contact us using the details below and we will do so unless we are required to keep it.
This site is served over HTTPS. Access to the database and the administration area is restricted to authorised Cargo Guardian personnel and protected by individual accounts. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure.
We use a small amount of browser storage to hold the randomly generated visitor and session identifier described above, so repeat visits are not counted as new people. You can clear or block this through your browser settings. Doing so will not stop you using the site.
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable period. There is no charge for making a request.
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can refer your complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
